Not even a pandemic nor strong northeast wind can stop this neighborhood!!!  We set a goal of $10k, and literally blew it out of the water!

Before I give the donation total, I need to thank the committee who put this whole thing together.  We had a lot of fun planning this event, and it takes all kinds of talents to come together and make it work.

Concert - ways to donate

Great news:  We have full Corporate sponsorship again this year!

We will recognize these donors in a separate email, at a later date.

Because of the generosity of these sponsors, 100% of your donations will go DIRECTLY to
Valley Outreach.

We also have 2 FUN incentives for early donation this year!

Donations of any denomination received by Sunday night July 26th, will receive an exclusive car decal (in white or black, depending on your car color)  CARNELIAN LAKE EDITION:

Donations of any denomination received by Sunday night July 26th will also get their name on a list (1 winner drawn day of concert) to win a pair of these custom 20oz insulated tumblers.  Donations of $5-$100 receive 1 entry; $101-$200 receive a second entry; unlimited entries per $100 donated.

In order to be eligible for either of these prizes, we need to be able to confidently track your name to deliver your prize. So please donate one of these ways so we know who you are and how to find you:

1. PayPal Money Pool at the following: https://paypal.me/pools/c/8quMRNakw6

2  Write a check directly to: Valley Outreach
Mail or drop off 1 of 2 ways:

Julie Andrich at 12325 Otchipwe Ave, Stillwater, MN 55082

Drive thru at any of Lake Elmo Banks 3 locations: Lake Elmo, Oakdale, Stillwater (Make sure           you put ATTN: CHRIS CLARK on the envelope, and/or Carnelian Cares in the memo line)

When we get closer to the event date, we will post alternative ways to donate to Valley Outreach directly.  For now, we are trying to drive early donations in one of the ways above by offering a couple of fun incentives.

2020 Concert featuring Tim Sigler

Hello friends and neighbors,

We are excited to announce that the Carnelian Cares concert on the lake is a GO again this year, featuring music by well-known and loved Tim Sigler and his band!  Check him out here:

IG: timsigler
Twitter: @TimSigler

We believe this year the need is greater than ever, with more Stillwater families in need of the services provided by Valley Outreach.  We have a great opportunity to make a difference as a neighborhood to help our community.

Date:  Sunday 8/2 – rain or shine
Time:  2:30 – 4:00
Location:  Same as previous years – watch for the yard sign this Friday (on the point just north of the public landing)

Please note this is an "ANCHOR UP" event - there is no public access to the property - only the band and the home owners family allowed on shore.

In addition to NextDoor, we are trying to direct traffic to either our blog or our Facebook page:

Our blog is at:  https://carnelianconcert.blogspot.com/ Please sign up to follow by email.

Something new this year:  we have a fun contest planned to generate early donations. Stay tuned!

We will post methods to donate on Monday 7/6, but for now mark your calendars for Sunday August 2nd.

Have a safe and fun 4th of July weekend – see you all on the lake!

Final Concert Donation Tally & Other Fun Facts

I am blown away and pleased to report what an amazing and generous neighborhood we have!

Here a quick history of net funds raised over 4 years of this fun community building event:

2016:  $2,500 for Craig Chamberlin's plum fund account
2017:  $1,000 for Valley Outreach (bad weather canceled the second half of the concert)
2018:  $5,374 for Community Thread

(Drum roll please)

2019:  $8,192 for Valley Outreach!!!

Total funds raised this year were $11,692 which included corporate sponsorship funds to cover the cost of the band.

A few more fun facts:
  • Anchored up boat count this year = 57
    • Up from 49 last year
    • Does not count transient boats who came in/out and never anchored up.
  • Of the $1137 in cash collected at halftime during the concert, $40 of it was rescued by 2 very brave women who dove in the water when a $20 dollar bill came out of our butterfly net on 2 separate occasions.
    • Problem solved for next year, so no worries going forward.
    • One of the two women was completely dry when she jumped in.
    • They were both given "10" scores for their style and execution of said dives.
  • Please be on the lookout for an updated "Carnelian Cares" Facebook page.
    • Please share your concert photos here!

THANK YOU FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS for your amazing generosity!

THANK YOU SPONSORS for giving us maximum donation potential!
  • Lynskey & Clark (Bob & Chris Clark)
  • Morrow Partners (Wally & Karen Nelson)
  • John K and Margaret A Ogren Foundation (Erik & Laura Ogren)

THANK YOU COMMITTEE of Rob & Karen Boyts, Jodi Kraemer, and Bob & Chris Clark. This was truly a group effort of time, talent and treasures shared.
